The title of Pontiak's newest record, Innocence, might be a little misleading. In the debut single, a song with the same name, there is so much pounding, overt guitar sludge that it reminds us of what it's like to lose our innocence, pleading for a simpler time. In under two minutes, guitars slice through to the core while leadman Van Carney yips and yells like a wolf howling at the moon. The track reaches its ballistic height before you have a chance to even catch your breath.
