Back injury puts Slayer, Megadeth tour plans on hold
Heavy-metal mainstays Slayer [ tickets ] have postponed plans for their impending co-headlining tour with Megadeth [ tickets ] so that lead singer Tom Araya can undergo surgery to treat a chronic back ailment.
"Tom gave various medical treatments more than a fair shot," Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, said in a press statement, "but they just haven't handled the problem, so he's biting the bullet and is scheduled for back surgery at the end of this month."
