Wigmore Hall, LondonLook Down, Fair Moon, Huw Watkins's new song cycle for Gerald Finley and Julius Drake, takes its title from a poem by Walt Whitman, the first of six works with lunar associations that Watkins sets. But the starting point for the sequence was the text with which the cycle ends, Philip Larkin's lament for lost youth, Sad Steps, which Watkins had already used as the title for a chamber work.
