Keeping Jimi's flame glowing

Jimi Hendrix has been called the greatest rocker to ever play an electric guitar, but in some quarters, his iconic image and ground-breaking music are in danger of fading into a purple haze. Many of today's pop-music fans weren't even born when Hendrix died four decades ago at 27, and guitar-based rock has lost popularity as hip-hop and dance music have taken over radio and CD sales.
