Laura Barton's writing on music ('The problem I have with classical music…', 14 July) is some of the most beautiful and sensitive in all journalism. At over 80, it's not surprising that I can't share her enthusiasm for rock music – largely short-winded and rather dull to my fairly tolerant ears.
