I welcome the article by Stephen Hough (The hot Liszt, G2, 28 December), especially a few days before Liszt's anniversary year, but am a bit disappointed it focused just on Liszt's piano music. If a better understanding of the complex nature of this composer is to be gained, let's hope that in this year more attention will be given to his other works. The sacred choral works – Christus, Via Crucis, Psalm 13 etc. Not forgetting, the two symphonies, symphonic poems, songs, organ and chamber work...
