Marv Tarplin: Guitarist a perfect pair with Smokey

Services will be held Friday for Marv Tarplin, the late Motown guitarist and songwriter best known for his work with Smokey Robinson. Tarplin, who was 70 when he died Sept. 30 at his home in Las Vegas, will be memorialized at 3 p.m. Friday at James H. Cole Funeral Home, 16100 Schaefer, Detroit. Family hour will start at 2:30 p.m. The cause of death has not been released.
