Metal has once again triumphed over indie as Metallica's new album, Death Magnetic, has beaten Scottish indie nerks Glasvegas to the top of the British album charts.
Despite going on sale on Friday, September 12, giving it only 48 hours to make an impact on last week's chart, death Magnetic clocked up the highest number one tally for nearly three months by shifting 75,164 copies by close of business on Saturday. Glasvegas's self-titled release sold 56,387 copies.
