It was a dreary day at Far Leys, the Drake family estate in Tanworth-in-Arden, England, a village in the Warwickshire countryside. Nick, who had suffered a mental breakdown in April 1972, mostly spent the day in silence, a familiar pattern, ambling in and out of the family music room.
