Nicole Scherzinger: Killer Love – review

(Interscope)As with most modern R&B albums, this debut solo album from the former Pussycat Doll is two thirds deliriously catchy pop stompers (the RedOne-produced "Poison", the synth-heavy "Say Yes") and one third balladry (the plodding Sting duet, "Power's Out"). For most of it, Scherzinger's not inconsiderable voice is used as a blank canvas, the producers projecting a suggestion of Rihanna on to "Right There" and Beyoncé on to the mid-paced "You Will Be Loved".
