Patty Griffin readies gospel CD

Patty Griffin [ tickets ] will release her seventh album on Jan. 26, according to a press release. The gospel-inspired recording, titled "Downtown Church, was recorded live at The Downtown Presbyterian Church in Nashville with Griffin singing from the pulpit. The Buddy Miller-produced record features additional vocals by Emmylou Harris, Raul Malo, Jim Lauderdale, Shawn Colvin, Mike Farris and Buddy and Julie Miller.
