For my money, one of the less depressing and useless byproducts of the proliferation of consumer-electronic gadgetry has been the introduction of the podcast. As someone who has had no formal education since he was 17 years old (21 years ago) and who suffers from enfeebled reading habits as a result, the podcast is an invaluable development.
