Wearing a flower-patterned dress and candy-apple red lipstick that offset her pasty skin, Regina Spektor looked like a child seated at her grand piano Saturday at a sold-out Chicago Theatre. For a moment, it seemed as if the Steinway would swallow her and her radiant smile whole. Yet, once Spektor began striking the keys and singing, she clearly had control of everything -- the fluctuating tempos, scatted vocals, talkative crowd and, chiefly, the music's joie de vivre.
