(Modular)Tame Impala hail from Perth, which boasts of being the most isolated city in the world. Innerspeaker suggests it's so isolated, in fact, that no new music has reached it since 1969: it's a perfect recreation of the point in English music just before psychedelia tipped over into heavy rock.
