"The Tale of Despereaux" (Rated G; 1 hour, 33 minutes): A richly imagined animated film to charm kids 6 and older. There are scary bits throughout that could give the under-6 crowd the frights: Rats threaten to eat the little mouse hero Despereaux; he falls into a dungeon, runs a gauntlet of mousetraps and is forced into an arena with a hungry cat.
