The Pretenders to play in Ann Arbor tonight

THE PRETENDERS: Chrissie Hynde made a dazzling return with last fall's "Break Up the Concrete," an album that nods to Americana and recaptures the old Pretenders magic without sounding forced. At 57, she's still one of the coolest figures in rock 'n' roll, equal parts bite and grace.
