Tom Brokaw didn't retire, he shifted gears

The veteran newsman remains a force at NBC. His next documentary: 'BOOMER$!' The day he was scheduled to retire from his job as a foreman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Yankton, S.D., Tom Brokaw's father, known as Red, called his son. "I can't retire," he told the NBC anchor, in an uncharacteristic burst of emotion. "I just want to plow one more snowstorm."
