The Mekons are history

Bands reflect history as much as they help shape it. With a career that spans more than three decades, the Mekons have found themselves by choice and coincidence amid myriad social and cultural happenings. Along the way, the Chicago- and England-based collective dabbled in nearly every musical possible style, writing about topics ranging from capitalist oppression to social uprisings and Cold War politics.
