When one thinks about bats, in general, the images conjured aren't typically the type of happy, innocent, loving winged creatures of the night. Of course, one could also very easily compare bats to indie hipsters: they roam around at night, rely on their ears as guidance, and love the city of Austin. Somehow I doubt that's the same crazy connection the Fruit Bats made when coining a name to match their charming independent folk/rock sound. Hopefully you're not unfamiliar with Chicago bred Fru...
