(The Future) Jonathan Pfeffer, "Alektorophobic"

Jonathan Pfeffer returns to our ears with a composition of hair-raising atonal fury, performed by a quintet made up of the Mivos Quartet and Julian Chin. The Philly-based musician, known also for his work in Capillary Action, says the piece is about his phobia of chickens, described as "XTC meets Glenn Branca meets Oneohtrix Point Never." The play of piano and strings won't sit quietly on your nerves, nor will the razor-sharp slices of static fuzz, but that's probably the point...
