'Whatever' works about half the time

Woody Allen has aged into that grandpa you hate taking out to Cracker Barrel because you never know what might come out of his mouth. He's still got the occasional bit of wit in him. He can still land Penélope Cruz an Oscar for a "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." But films like "Hollywood Ending" and "Scoop" have been coming along so often in recent years that it's a relief when he doesn't embarrass himself.
