At CSO, a marriage of Old World mellowness and New World grit

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's principal conductor is reminding us of that fact as he takes charge of concerts with the CSO Saturday and Tuesday nights at Orchestra Hall before, like a wise old Pied Piper, bringing it to Carnegie Hall the following weekend.
