Broader scope gives Viva Chicago Latin Music Festival a livelier beat

Midway through New York salsa band La Excelencia's Saturday set during the Viva Chicago Latin Music Festival in Grant Park, the singers made a popular shout-out. As the group played on the Los Barrios stage, they called for "one strength" among Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans and other Spanish-speaking Americans. The appeal was echoed often during the event, and this year it was particularly fitting.
