Symphony Hall, BirminghamMagnus Lindberg's Clarinet Concerto was premiered in 2002 and, two years ago, was brought to the Proms by its dedicatee, the charismatic Kari Kriikku, a Finnish musician as striking as his name. Yet it is hard to imagine Kriikku giving a more gripping performance than this one with Andris Nelsons and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
