Svoboda/Stenschke(Wergo)John Cage's Solo for trombone can be performed on its own but is also part of the compositional "kit" of his 1958 Concert (not "concerto" as it states in the opaquely pompous sleeve notes) for piano and orchestra. By means of multitracking, Mike Svoboda turns it into an eight-layered canzona in which the basic material recurs at different speeds, almost like a medieval mensural canon.
