Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve's official grand opening set for today

CARPENTER LAKE NATURE PRESERVE: It has acres of oak-hickory woodlands and meadows, nature trails, fishing platforms and more. Carpenter Lake Nature Preserve, the new gem in Southfield's crown, has its official grand opening today. The preserve will be open dawn to dusk year-round and there's no admission fee. Ceremony at 1 p.m., 10 Mile Road just east of Inkster Road along the Ravines Branch of the Rouge River, Southfield. 248-796-4620.
