Cleveland rocker celebrates new lease on life

Of the boatload of rock star cliches out there, the “dark period” is a biggie. From Brian Wilson's obese sandbox wallowing to Sly Stone's drug-addled hermitage, John Lennon's lost weekend and Ol' Dirty Bastard's imprisonment, pop music history has made it next to impossible for an artist to crash and burn in an original way.
