(Universal)Craig David's intention, on this Motown-dominated covers album, was to "sing the songs exactly as the original artists had", which he does, reproducing every falsetto and hiccup. David is more than competent at this; at times he's uncannily identical, replicating Marvin Gaye's despair on I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Stevie Wonder's giddiness on For Once in My Life, and nailing Eddie Kendricks's daydreamy croon on the Temptations' Just My Imagination.
