DSO has a rousing time with rarely performed piece inspired by Alice's 'Wonderland'

If you've got plans for Saturday, you might want to change them to hear the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and music director Leonard Slatkin tackle David Del Tredici's "Final Alice." It's a corker: a remarkable 65-minute orgy of orchestral song, sound and surrealism inspired by Lewis Carroll's Wonderland and barely suppressed lust for a girl named Alice.
