With the US Capitol as a dramatic backdrop, David Archuleta performed the Star Spangled Banner to open the PBS holiday special, A Capitol Fourth. Later, David performed “Stand By Me.” The special, hosted by Jimmy Smits celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and also featured performances by Gladys Knight, Reba MacIntyre and Darius Rucker.
