The Dirty Projectors tend to elicit one of two reactions: either outright annoyance or aversion followed by a strange compulsion to give it another shot. Melodies don't go where you think they're supposed to go; guitars don't do what you think they're supposed to do. The band's latest album, "Bitte Orca," is a bit like Led Zeppelin relocated to West Africa and turned inside out.
