When Lemmy Kilmister set out to form his own band in 1975, he apparently first choose the name "Bastard." Instead, he did some re-thinking and settled on "Motorhead [ tickets ]"--the title of the last song he'd contributed to the group Hawkwind [ tickets ] before he was fired.
More than three decades later, the 1977 single serves as a mile-marker for the metal genre, as well as perhaps grunge; one can almost hear Kurt Cobain [ tickets ]'s voice in the tune. In a 2004 interview with Playlouder...
