Greg Kot's choice rock shows

Primal Scream: Bobby Gillespie and his U.K. outfit have been at it for more than two decades, embracing everything from retro rock to thumping club music. The band's work has always been erratic, and after a run of good to great albums, last year's "Beautiful Future" was a bit of a letdown. But live the band knows how to overload the senses, with a rave-worthy light show abetting the head-on sonics.
