On their second album, Melbourne DJs Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers of Gypsy and The Cat wanted to move away from the “yacht rock” sound that defined their critically acclaimed debut Gilgamesh. Looking for inspiration they turned to the psychedelic sounds of Spacemen 3, Supertramp and The Zombies. The result: The Late Blue, an album of “dreamscape ballads, driving tom-fuelled rock, lazy Nordic grooves and liquid tones”.
