Who's heard the band that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo did before Daft Punk? They were a three-piece with Laurent Brancowitz from Pheonix. They were called Darlin', named after and inspired by The Beach Boys song. They had one release on Stereolab's Duophonic label in 1993. It was a split EP with Huggy Bear and Stereolab .
