Passion Pit has moved rapidly from a one-man dorm room project to full-fledged band playing high-profile gigs at the Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza festivals. The saga began in Boston when Emerson College student Michael Angelakos recorded some tunes on his laptop in 2007 as a Valentine's Day present for his then-girlfriend.
