Jesus Lizard is back, in book form — no fires, no nudity

David Yow set himself on fire. That was my first glimpse of the Jesus Lizard, in 1989. Duane Denison, David Wm. Sims and Mac McNeilly played as if they were punishing their instruments. And Yow literally lit up the stage for a few seconds. They made a few hundred fans that night, and through the '90s, they were the best live band on the planet.
