Kara Dioguardi Officially Leaves American Idol

It’s official. Kara Dioguardi is leaving the American Idol judges’ panel. It’s nice of TPTB to frame the split like it was her idea. And they dump the news on Friday afternoon before a  long holiday–that’s a trick publicists use to down play bad news. Kara had a grating television personality to be sure, but if you got past the annoyances, she actually knew what the eff she was talking about.
