Post-rock never made into the mainstream, but it had a huge influence on alternative music in the earlu nineties. Washington DC band Last Tide keep the wall-to-wall music alive on their EP The Broken Places. In the five tracks they go for structure first, with the melody riding shotgun. Shapeshifter is the stand-out track - the music pushes the dreamy vocals of keyboardist Lilly Dorot and vice versa.
