Roy Warne writes: Robin Denselow's obituary of Jackie Leven (16 November) mentioned his story-telling prowess and reminded me of an anecdote he told between songs at a concert a few years ago. He was staying in digs in Blackpool and was being ribbed by his landlady about his Scottish origins. Scots, she said, were mean and had no sense of humour.
