M Ward on his artistic influences

Beneath the mumbly, muted exterior of the American singer-songwriter M Ward lies a man of many passions. In our brief time together he admires not only the Sam and Dave track spilling out of the cafe speakers, but also the Rothko exhibition at Tate Modern, a recent tour of Abbey Road studios and the experience of a top-deck bus journey to Stoke Newington, where he was impressed by the health food store.
