With hard rock in their hearts, Steve "Lips" Kudlow and Robb Reiner met as high school students in 1973 Toronto. In 1978, they started Lips, which was soon signed to Attic Records. A name-change cemented the beginnings of Anvil: a metal band early and innovative enough to influence groups like Motörhead, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses and Metallica.
