Monterey Jazz Festival: Monk in the afternoon ...

Choices are tough at a first-class jazz smorgasbord such as this one. A couple of hours ago I went for Thelonious Monk tunes, performed by baritone saxophonist/flutist Claire Daly in the Night Club (over Nat 'King' Cole tunes performed by George Benson in the Arena). I'm glad I did. But tonight the choices are harder, with amazing musicians but a boisterous crowd in the Arena. Here's what I'm thinking ...
