Ne-Yo radiates classic cool at Chicago Theatre

Near the close of his show at a crowded Chicago Theatre on Friday, Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Smith) listed attributes that make for a "real man," including the ability to shed a tear without shame, a willingness to acknowledge fear and the courage to share a broken heart. And for the bulk of his polished, 75-minute set, the singer did just that, unveiling a host of ballads and midtempo jams that explored a more mature side of relationships.
