Percussionist/band leaders play Monterey Jazz Festival and other area venues

Like legendary jazz percussionists Buddy Rich, Art Blakey and Tony Williams, three of today's top Generation X drummers lead vibrant bands of their own. Antonio Sanch z, Brian Blade and Matt Wilson will be featured this weekend at the Monterey Jazz Festival, and -- good news for those who can't make it to Monterey -- all three will later return to the Bay Area to play in notable groups led by others. Two of them also will perform with their own bands next week at Yoshi's San Francisco.
