Jazz entrepreneur Pete King, who co-founded Ronnie Scott's nightclub half a century ago, has died aged 80. The east London born saxophonist was said to have been suffering from a prolonged period of illness and died yesterday afternoon.King played with Scott in a number of ensembles before the pair decided to open their joint venture in 1959.
