Prom 42: Philharmonia/Mälkki – review

Royal Albert Hall, LondonAustrian composer Olga Neuwirth's 2009 viola concerto had its UK premiere in this Prom by the Philharmonia Orchestra under Susanna Mälkki. The work has a double title: Remnants of Songs ... an Amphigory – the latter defined by the OED as "a nonsensical burlesque composition".
