Review: At S.F. Opera, a mid-20th-century 'Die Walküre,' ratcheted up to devastating effect

The San Francisco Opera staging for this segment of Richard Wagner's four-part 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' cycle will be remembered for a long time because it is so thrilling, so clearly mapped out and so brilliantly sung by sopranos Eva-Maria Westbroek and Nina Stemme, baritone Mark Delavan and by the rest of this airtight cast. Next year the whole cycle will be presented at War Memorial.
