Review: Opera San Jose's powerful season-opening `Rigoletto'

Verdi's 'Rigoletto' is breaking hearts once again in the powerful production with which Opera San Jose has opened its 31st season. Sunday's performance at the California Theatre featured several outstanding voices in leading roles, including that of baritone Evan Brummel as Rigoletto, the mocking and mocked court jester in 16th-century Mantua, Italy. The production runs through Sept. 21.
