Roy Greenslade: Lebedev to kick off editors' conference with lecture

Alexander Lebedev is to kick off the Society of Editors (SoE) conference in Glasgow in November by delivering the annual lecture. The owner of the London Evening Standard and the two Independent titles is likely to choose press freedom as his theme.He is co-owner, with Mikhail Gorbachev, of the Moscow pro-democracy newspaper Novaya Gazeta, which has suffered from intense official pressure within Russia.
